This site offers visitors information about available golf courses in the Dominican Republic. When it comes to Golf Courses in the Dominican Republic the country can be devided into 6 areas. To the far east you will find Punta Cana and Bavaro. This is the area of the Dominican Republic where most Golf Courses are located. The reason is simply because this is the area where most tourist come to visit. Therefore this is also the place in the Dominican Republic that is most developed towards tourism. And a large group of the tourist do come to play golf which is why the area offers many top class Golf Courses. A lot of the Golf Courses located in Punta Cana and Bavaro are centered around either a beach resort / hotel or as the centerpiece of a housing community. The Punta Cana area has a large international airport making it easy to get to and from this area as flights are offered to a large number of key airports around the world. To the south west of Punta Cana and Bavaro you will find the town of La Romana which is also an important tourist area as this is home of Casa de Campo. Casa de Campo is one large resort that hosts 4 full size 18 hole golf courses. Also there is a marina or a lot of other interesting offers to people who either live here permanently or come to visit. There is a small airport close to Casa de Campo making it easy to fly in if you can find a flight to this airport. If not the main international airport of the Domonican Republic is only around 1 1/2 hour away. Further to the west Juan Dolio is Located. This area is important mostly because it is only about 30 to 40 minutes drive from the capitol of the Dominican Republic. The capitol is named Santo Domingo. Therefore this area has great appeal to people living and working in Santo Domingo as they will have an easy escape from the busy city. Santo Domingo also has a few Golf Courses either inside the city limits or very close to the city limit. Amongst those are the oldest Golf Course in the Dominican Republic as well as the Golf Course that belongs to the federation of golf in the Dominican Republic. To the far north another tourist area is located. The norther region of the Dominican Republic also has appeal to tourist with nice beaches and a few Golf Course. The central region of the Dominican Republic also offers a couple of Golf Course. Those Golf Course are mainly played on by locals. | Punta Cana and Bavaro Punta Cana and Bavaro is probably the most important area in the Dominican Republic when it comes to visiting tourists. This is the area that has the most resort, housing projects and as a consequence also the most Golf Courses. La Romana La Romana is the name of the local town that actually do not have a great deal to do with golf. However just to the east of La Romana you will find Casa de Campo which houses a total of four 18 hole golf courses. There are also other resorts in the area which offers golf but Casa de Campo is the place that offers the most golf around La Romana. Juan Dolio Juan Dolio is only a short drive away from the capitol of the Dominican Republic and as such has great appeal to people who work and live in Santo Domingo. Santo Domingo Santo Domingo is the capitol of the Dominican Republic. There are Golf Courses to be found in or very close to Santo Domingo. Amongst those are the oldest Golf Course in the Dominican Republic as well as the Golf Course that is home to the federation of golf in the Domincan Republic. Puerto Plata and Playa Grande Puerto Plata and Playa Grande is a nice area that like all other tourist areas in the Dominican Republic has nice beaches. There are also a few Golf Courses in the area. Central Dominican Republic Central Dominican Republic is the place that has a few Golf Courses that primarely are played on by locals. An 18 hole Golf Course is located in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros. Other then that a couple of 9 hole golf courses can be found in the central Dominican Republic. |
