Catalonia Caribe Golf Club presented by Guide to Golf in the Dominican Republic:

Inland golf course set just to the south east of the beach town Bávaro. Despite being one of the cheaper courses in the Bávaro area the Catalonia Caribe Golf Course is still in good shape with some interesting holes along the way. What lags is an overall plan for the layout of the course which may leave the player with a somewhat confused impression of the course. However looking at the individual holes you will find plenty of interesting shot amongst them a par 3 with an island green when visiting the Catalonia Caribe Golf Course. Also the maintenance standard of this course is surprisingly good considering the price compared to some of the areas other on more expensive golf courses. Especially the greens are in excellent conditions. However some of the areas that can be considered garden or park areas - areas that are not in play - could use a few flowever and maybe a better carpath between the holes. But where golf is played the course is to be considered better then average maintained.

Hole by hole description presented by Golf in the Dominican Republic:

Hole 1 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Straight par 4 that plays rather narrow – at least visually from the tee box. Once the golf ball is launched securely to the center of fairway the player will have a fairly simple approach shot to a large green guarded only by a couple of bunkers to the left.

Hole 2 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Long par 5 once again with a tee shot that doesn't leave much room for error. Long hitters might have a crack at this green in two. Players needing 3 or more shots to get to the green should play second and third as simple transport shots with the sole purpose of covering ground. Once again a fairly large green this time guarded by two bunkers to the font. One to the left and the other to the right.

Hole 3 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Straight par 4 where the second half of the hole plays up a slope which makes the green and obstacles difficult to pinpoint. Try to play down the left side of the fairway as there a lake comes in to play on the right hand side when approaching the green. A bunker guards the green to the short left side.

Hole 4 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Dogleg right par 4 with plenty of room for the drive. Play it down the right hand side to cut the corner and make the hole play a bit shorter. Once again a fairly open green only guarded by one bunker to the short left side.

Hole 5 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Short par 4 that however is more or less impossible to attack. A lake guards the left side of the hole all the way to the green making it virtually impossible to hit a driver on this hole. However not to worry as two descent ion shot will get you to the green. When playing the second shot the corner of the lake must be carried. Green is guarded by the lake.

Hole 6 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Interesting par 3 with an island green in the middle of the before mentioned lake. However do not fear as the green is rather big. And on top of that you will also find a waste area around the green catching at least some of the balls not landing on the green.

Hole 7 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Dogleg left par 5 hole playing down a slope. Right hand players that are able to hit a draw will have an advantage on this hole from the tee box as the hole has a perfect shape for a draw left. Second half of the hole is out of bounds to the left as this area is reserved for the driving range. The green is guarded by 2 bunkers short of the green. One of each side of the green.

Hole 8 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Long par 3 hole that at least visually seams narrow. Green is guarded by two bunkers short. One on each side.

Hole 9 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Par 4 with a slight turn to the right. A bunker on the right side of fairway is set to catch at least a portion of the slicers. The green is once again guarded by to bunkers short of the green. One on each side.

Hole 10 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Long par 4 playing down along the road leading to the clubhouse. Player must try to play down the left or middle of the fairway for an easier approach to the green. Guarded by one bunker short right.

Hole 11 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Long par 5 where the two first shots best can be described as transport shot. Once ready to approach the green the player will find that the green is up a slope meaning that the player will need an extra club or ion to cover the distance. Green is guarded by a couple of grass bunkers.

Hole 12 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Dogleg right par 4 with a bunker on the right hand side to catch the players that try to cut the corner but lags the distance to do so. This is not a long hole therefore there is no need to try to cut to much of the corner. Green is guarded by a couple of bunkers which means that a hole placed to the rear and right hand side will give a tough approach.

Hole 13 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Long par 4 where the second half plays up a slope which will make the hole play longer. Plenty of room in the fairway to try to hit a big one. Approach shot can be difficult as the putting surface is impossible to see due to the slope leading to the green. Once on the green you will find one of the few green with a few build in slope and plateaus.

Hole 14 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Interesting par 3 where the tee box is located maybe as much as 30 feet above the putting surface give the player a good view of the hole. The hole is to be considered a long par 3 hole. More room will be found on the right hand side of the hole then on the left hand side. A couple of bunkers guards the green.

Hole 15 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Long par 5 hole with little room for error from the tee box. A lake can be found on the right hand side of the first 2/3 of the hole. On the left hand side is a slope with bushes and palm trees leading up to the before mentioned green and tee box. Once your golf ball is in play you will find yourself with a couple of transport shot to the green that is guarded by a big bunker on the left side.

Hole 16 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Long and straight par 4 playing down a slope the first 2/3 of the hole. The green is guarded by a couple of bunkers short of the green.

Hole 17 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Fairly simple par 3 hole with one bunker to the short left side. Along the edges of the hole you will find some vegetation so a ball hit stray can be a challenge getting back in play.

Hole 18 at Catalonia Caribe Golf Course:
Long par 4 with a big lake covering the second half of the hole on the left hand side. Lake is in play as the fairway curves around the lake. Playing down the right hand side will make the hole play safer but also longer. A couple of bunkers guards the left side of the green.
