The golfing Paradise of the Dominican Repubblic can roughly be divided into 4 areas if looked apun a map. To the far east you will find the big areas that has great appeal to especially tourists with the combination of beautiful beaches, stunning ocean view, lots of golf courses and of courses resorts and housing projects to accommodate all the tourists. This part of the eastern region of the Dominican Republic is where the most popular tourist areas are found. These areas are normally referred to as Punta Cana, Cap Cana, Bavaro, Cabesa del Torro and Uvero Alto. Uvero Alto is the only area that yet does not have any golf courses of its own. However the first ones are planned and expected to be ready before 2015. Casa de Campo just on the eastern part of La Romana is also part of the eastern region.

To the south you will find Santo Domingo which is the capital of the Dominican Rebublic. To the east of Santo Domingo areas like Juan Dolio and Boca Chica are located. This areas are very popular to people working in Santo Domingo who are looking for a quick getaway from the city.

In the northern part of the Dominican Republic areas like Cabarete, Playa Dorada and San Juan are found.
